Default Club Car Build

Ok i have an 87 club car that i have been driving for 10+ years. the engine is tiered and a honda clone is on the way. I have dismantled the whole cart for paint, a roll cage, and if i can come up with enough dough i'll lift it too. I'll get some pics up soon and update through the build. I use my cart soley off road, so its time to get it up to standard. I'm tierd of getting smoked by my friends Yamaha and my others EZGO

You need to post lots of pics! Don't feel bad about getting smoked by Yamahas, they rule!

I will have the engine tomarrow! I have heard that these clones dont have a good charging system, so i am going to use the starter/generator as a generator only. I was going to do the comet 780 but i want the generator. so im having the crankshaft machined to fit the stock clutch and my clutches machined and tuned for better tourqe and speed. I will see how much I get done this weekend and keep posting pics. I will try to give some ideas for using the generator too, as i have read quite a bit about people with charging problems.

That is a good ? I run a fuel pump, 2 55w halogens and a winch on mine. I use the winch for snowplowing up and down alot and it is ok. My pump alone doesn't change on the volt meter and my with my lights on it will drop and stay at 11.9 volts. As soon as I shut them off it goes right back to 12.4. But.. I have been looking around and I am finding out some are 3 amp ,10amp, or 13 amp charging systems. I am not how to find out what I have but I am working on this. I am thinking a 3 amp would not run what I have but idk. May not hurt to use the sg though.

I didnt know that there were several amperages. all i have read is that they were 3amp. What engine are you running? Mine will be the 16hp powermax. Im sur 3 amps wouldn't cut it, but 10-12 probably would. i dont know what the stock generator puts out but it cant be that great.
