Default Drive Belt Help

Getting ready to bolt in a 420 clone into the G1 and need to figure out a drive belt. Has anyone done this swap or know what belt size the G1 uses?

I was told it is 1 3/8 but can anyone confirm or even better have a part number?

I saw a youtube video where a guy recommended a Dayco HP2028 but says its 1.1XX inches. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That would be a 1-3/16 wide belt so that part is right but I have no idea as to the length. I'm a custom VC460 club car DS guy so my belt length is totally different.

Happy last day of 2017 to you and yours

Peace

Thanks David!

Huge help, and happy new year to you and yours as well!

Fortunately with my mount I should be able to have a little wiggle room to slide the motor up or down adjusting the belt tension before drilling the holes and bolting it down!

Hag1,

I know you have a G1, but the belt you are looking for has ribs on both sides of the belt, here is a link to CPP..
I would actually call them, ask to speak with Bruce, and he could put you in the direction you really need to go. I say go with this type belt because you are doing all of that pretty work to your cart and these belts are the best bar none.

I hope this helps you out, I've been following your build so I thought you would appreciate that input....

Thanks PCC - I will call, but my issue is needing a longer than OEM belt of the same width due to how the 420 clone sits in the cart!

Super excited with how close I am but bummed out by this cold weather in texas!

Sorry to read about your v-twin cart, hope it was just a crankcase sealing issue!
At least you have the dirty down low to roll.

Just look around the various Dayco sites and you will find what you need. If you want the double cogged type focus on thd Dayco HPX

So the Dayco HP2028 is 1.188 inches which makes more sense as 1 3/16 than 1 3/8. But is it correct? I may have saved the OEM belt and can just measure.

The Day HP2028 on amazon is listed as 1.5 in?!

All I know is the dude in this video recommend it in his G1 420 Swap.

It has been really cold, even here on the island.....
Thank goodness for heated garage......
I got lucky with the motor, I think changing the oil so often as I do, might have saved me but I did crack it open and inspect everything, the cylinder walls were in good shape, but the cross hatches were gone, so we took a bottle brush, knocked off the edges, and went 15 over on the Rings.... The rest of the rotating assembly, was amazingly pristine.... Can't say enough about Mobile1 ..... But in short, I have the whole golf cart tore apart having places on the frame re-welded, all new bushings on the rear have to be replaced, the front hubs have to be replaced.
Sad news is the my car is still at the welder I might get it Wednesday. By then all of my engine parts shoud have all arrived...

You know I would sell you that 440 that I have, really cheap! would throw in a VC header VC Billet intake, and filter electric fuel pump, and the small gas tank. Governor and sensors have already been cleared. I'll even deliver it to you, my favorite cousin lives in Dallas...
