Re: VC 625 different carb ??
Are you talking putting a different carburetor on a 625 or using the 24mm carb from a 625 on something else? The 24mm carburetor on the 625 is a great little carburetor. It needs a little work but has surpassed the original 460cc cab by a mile. You have to work getting the fuel air screw out. I made a fuel air screw for my carb - you can see it in the one picture, it sticks out just enough to adjust it and not get burned. Also it matters not what carb your running it needs an adjustable main jet kit installed. If your running a new 625 -- you'll need to work the carburetor to get 100% out of it. For what it is worth I feel its giving me 110%

Re: VC 625 different carb ??
I was talking about changing the 625 carb to something else.. glad to hear it’s been working great for you.....I bought the adjustable main jet..I just read some negative reviews and thought maybe it wasn’t worth installing it..
Getting ready to install 8:1 gears.. I love how the 625 accelerates with 12:1 gears. I know 625 is a tourque monster and everyone says it will run the same, but whoever gets on it this cart now and smashes the gas to the floor.... Nothing but smiles😁😊 .. I want to try hard as possible not to hurt that.. My cart is street legal and want more top speed.. currently running 34mph with 23inch tires , but that’s at top RPM and the engine is screaming!!!! We drive long Runs and I hate maxing out the motor constantly.. I figured when I install high speed gears and I loose some bottom end I would make up the lose with more air and fuel.. currently my exhaust is 1.25 into geo metro muffler.. pleanty of breathing room.. what do you think ? |

Re: VC 625 different carb ??
The main jet kit is well worth installing. It depends on what kit you got cause some of them have parts for other model engines which if used will cause problems. You need to understand how to adjust it the first time. I agree with you about not wanting the engine screaming for miles on end. Changing the gears is a good way to start. You'll lose a little and you'll gain a little -- if you drive on the road most of the time it's worth the minor loss of some low end. I'm working towards getting a vin number and regular plates for a homemade car. I have 25 inch tires - stock gears - 780 drive clutch and the old g2 secondary -- 36-37 mph @ 4200 rpm. I can cruise 30 mph all day long. I have a 8 to 1 gear set - all new bearings and seals. I plan on rebuilding it as soon as I can get some help.

Re: VC 625 different carb ??
Hello Shepard,
I see where you added air/fuel jet. I sent a picture of what I bought... Is what I have the same ?? Also spoke with VC they told me to drill out Idle jet ... I have a micro drill bit set.. I’m going to start just a hair bigger than the current hole. The idle jet was suppose to get rid of the popping I’m have when I let off at WOT... Plug looks perfect... I guess that’s why the issue is with the idle jet.. |

Re: VC 625 different carb ??
Couple of questions to make sure I understand completely..
1. Drill the main jet I got from eBay kit to .080.. Can I buy a .080 jet ? If so where ? 2. When I drill 1/16 hole in adjuster screw then soak in solvent It will reveal the screw ? When I drill into the screw with 1/16 bit am I drilling until I touch the screw? Or drilling all the way through?? 3. Then I remove the screw by drilling it out ? 4 then tap the hole with 4mm x .75 .... 5. What goes in the tapped open hole ?... |

Re: VC 625 different carb ??
I was studying your pictures.. I can see where you drilled in the screw adjuster..
You remove it and put in what ?... Also VC told me to remove the idle screw and slightly make the hole larger... What do you think about that ? |

Re: VC 625 different carb ??
Also you mentioned the main jet should be .08
I checked the one I have from eBay kit and it’s 1.2 inner diameter..... |
