Default My VC460 Paperweight :(

So I have had this horrible vibration issue since first firing up my 460. The exhaust mounting boss snapped off and 2 start/gen brackets broke in the first few hours of operation. I ended up building a reinforced bracket and extreme thread-locking the bolts. All was well for awhile and now has gone all bad. It seems 1 of the bracket mounting spots snapped off. To top it off the thread locker held so well that the vibration cause the 3 remaining mounting spots to chew themselves up badly. So now I am left with no way to mount a start/gen. :(
I have e-mailed VC and was informed I could purchase a new block and pay for shipping to have them repair it. Guess this isn't an issue covered by warranty.
So I was wondering if anyone else has had these kind of issues? I don't want to put the effort forward to getting the 460 fixed if it is just going to be a reoccurring problem. Also If anyone had any ideas on how to repair the block I have. Pictures attached for reference.
Thanx for any input and best wishes to all

Guess they tried to say in around about way you done something wrong. That was my experience with my small purchase. Really nice during the sale but acted like they didn't want to be bothered after they got my money. Nothing but a positive experience with CPP on my Big Block Kit. Good luck

Yeah, me too... Ate up a VC Comet 780 within a few hours. No dice on the warranty. Bought one elsewhere, no issues since.

Hope you get this resolved...

Can you pull start the engine to get it running and take a video of how much is shaking? All these engines vibrate but I cant imagine how bad i must be if it is breaking parts like that.

Have you looked inside to see if all is well with the balance shaft ? ARC claims if the balance shaft is removed without a proper balance these engine can shake the fillings out of your teeth at certain rpms. If the block is that hurt why not look inside ?

That would be interesting to see. One must realize with these chicom motors that they are made with the poorest of metals and thin as possible to stay together for a while in STOCK form. Start increasing revs and power mods and well, you take a risk.

I guess you've never studied VC's 460. One must realize these engines are very reliable and very well made for the dollars spent. One must realize that if your going to to bad mouth something you obviously know nothing about - you'll get set in your place by people who run these little China engines and have had no problems what so ever. I own 2 - 460's and I've had no problems. Anyone else?

Well, I guess I stand corrected. You guys seem to be getting a way better grade of chicom than I see here! Just out of curiosity, how many thousand hours are you getting out of them before they need a rebuild?

This operator is the first who has had issues of this caliber. I'm sure others have had something to complain about. These 460's are not to be compared ANY other brand of small China made engine. They're a racing engine - built with a performance cam and a billet rod. This all in a extra heavy 10 bolt engine block. What other engine can you compare it to. When Vegas Carts sold this engine it was hand assembled from parts to produce an inexpensive performance engine.
