Wicked, the 780 fits the 1" crank on the 18' & 20's. The 1190 is for the bigger crank on the 24's. Dont know about the 1195. No, price is not the reason...

I wouldn't say cheap. "Cheaper" is a better term. 780's fit more engines thats why they are more common. According to Comet's site, 780's also have a wider overall engagement RPM.

Crankshaft size probably has a lot to do with it.. The 1190/1195 require a 1 1/4" crankshaft, engines with this size shaft are not as common as the standard 1" shaft.. The 23 and larger Vannys and the 24 Hondas are the only popular engines available with the larger shaft as an option.. If your doing a swap with a used engine, you have to get a clutch that fits what you have.. The 780 gives a lot of bang for the buck in most applications.. As far as I know, no one manufactures a keyed sleeve to use a 1190/1195 clutch on an engine with a 1" shaft...

with our experience the 780 rev to high to quick

1190 you get about 4 MPH more and a full 1/4 mile to top speed

with a 23hp brigg cam, rev kit and our custom exhaust with 25"
tall tires in a 6 seater ezgo limo we have gotten 45 MPH

The 1190 is .750 bigger than the 780. That will cause the final gear ratio to be lower. (a little more top end)

The 780 is less expensive would be grammatically correct :0)

Well, gramatically speaking, it is also cheapest. Because it is cheaper than the alternatives.

Another thing to consider the 1190 is 7 -8 lbs heavier than the 780 so it like running 2 flywheels. Also on a club car the driven clutch does not have enough shift profile to use the added dia of the 1190 plus the 1190 is much wider so you would have to move the leaf spring mount.

With a 18 HP with cam and rev kit 6:1 gears and 215-50-12 the green machine runs 47 mph in 1/8 mile and 55 in 1/4 mile
