Switching precedent axle with a DS?
I have a 2013 Precedent that I have lifted and now I’m looking at doing a 23hp swap from CPP, since my axle moves in the opposite direction it will cause me to have to use reverse for forward and vise versa, my question is if I can find a DS and remove the rear end can i swap that into my cart?

Re: Switching precedent axle with a DS?
You can just install HS gears. I have 6:1 gears in mine and my forward is a 9:1 ratio. If you put 8:1 HS gears in, your forward will be back to 12:1. CPP has been doing this for years with their big block kits.
It isnt easy finding the ‘92-‘96 rear ends in decent shape. Installing the gears is pretty easy. Probably easier than making the older rear end fit your cart. |

Re: Switching precedent axle with a DS?
Probably because HS gears with the 23 Vanguard aren't really needed unless you want to go over 40mph,
AND, HS gears won't help the F/R, R/F shifting... that's something you'll just have to get used to. It's the nature of the beast with 97+ clockwise rotation Club Cars. |

How high does the 23 engine rev? A 17:1 ratio is a lot to deal with.
Your brain quickly gets into the new habit of putting the lever in the opposite direction you are accustomed to. |

Re: Switching precedent axle with a DS?
I don't know... the reason I don't have a big block is the whole F/R, R/F thing, (and money)
I really didn't feel like redesigning my Jake's shifter to work in reverse. 014 (3).JPG I've read that CC people are getting 35mph with stock gears, and the rev kit. I don't have any other information other than that. |

Re: Switching precedent axle with a DS?
Af far as swapping between the models it’s possible.
It’s if you can find out and have the time to have down time for the cart while you do it. I have clocked my 91 ccds at 36mph top out with a vc460 and stock gearing. This is on 12 inch wheels and tires. If you can find it do it and run large wheels and tires the engine can handle it. |
