Default What’s your angle?

When I done my vanguard swap the engine angle ended up at 18 degrees. I got it to 8 degrees by dropping the swing arm about 4 1/2 inches but I’d love to get the angle to around 4 degrees or less. Am I asking to much? Anyone ever use spacers between the motor mount plate and the frame mount? What angle are you guys running on your vtwins?

I read in a vanguard manual years ago that the max continuous operating angle is 15 degrees. I always mod the swing arm or engine mount when installing a replacement engine into a lifted cart to run between 5-10 degrees, I have never had an issue.

Jimme do you have a manual for your engine? I have one on my computer here at work if you would like me to send it to you. Just send me your email and I will forward it to you.

On my G16 with VC625 I used a combination of angle/bevel washers and spacers between the mounts and motor plate.. I believe I am around 7-8* now..

I put a spacer tube in my clone so it is about level, but I made the mount myself. The tube dropped the front lower, the rear is over the stock mount which is above the cradle anyway. It would work for a twin the same way but so far the clone has been fun. Its a 1.5" tube in the front makes it level.

Thanks guys. I’m going to get it around 5 degrees and call it good for now. I’m having an issue at the moment because I want to run it like it is for now( the cart setup not the engine angle) but I don’t want to do anything to permanent because I’m still debating a little more lift this winter. So I’m trying to think of a way I can make something strong but temporary or easily reversed/changed in the near future. Or something I can add to later if I go bigger.

Thanks g1. I do have the manual that came with the engine. If you have a service manual for it that would be great.
