Just an update, cart runs but the valves need to be adjusted. I had issues with the carb, I tried 3 carbs before one seemed to work. The air cleaner was modified, it now has the ability to get cleaner air from in front of the seat. Lights are being installed now.
The wrap and other visual aspects may not be put on until June, Iím hoping to have the cart running and attend the ride in South Carolina. Next I need to clean the gas tank and get a belt that fits.

Looks like a VW muffler on the bench. I've used a few on different vanguard carts, they work and sound great!! Carts coming along nice!

Yeah I saw that was used a few times so Iím going to give it a try! Iím hoping the air cleaner assembly works good at allowing cleaner air to my engine.

Do you mind sharing the carburetor details and what starter is that? Why did you switch from the 780 clutch?
Thanks for the info

It is a dual carb, finding an intake is the hardest part to find. I saw somewhere they have new ones for little over $100. Add 2 spacers, a 90 elbow, the carb itself, and another 90 up to the air cleaner. The 23hp intake will not work on this engine which is unfortunate because I see those for sale all the time. The clutch I got from Vegas carts, I have used the 780 before but the one I have now is listed for the same price but it was rated to take higher rpm and HP than the 780. I havenít used it yet to know a difference. The started is heavy duty, it has metal teeth aboard to the stock plastic one. With the bigger cam decompression is an issue and the stock starter has a tendency to break.

I can try to track down part numbers if you need them, bolts can also be hard to find because they are fine threaded and long, not many stores carry them.

Tell me about that air cleaner set up? You welded 3 of the 4 corners closed? What did you use for that elbow coming off the last hole?

Just a 90 for an exhaust from advanced auto. Closed up three holes and made the fourth bigger to fit my 90.

It moves in its own now! Need to add the tachometer and the speedometer now.

Luckily I had ordered a Vegas carts tachometer well before they sold out.

Also went ahead and made these to level out my cart. The front end was way higher than the back and it sat funny.
