Default 420cc Predator on an electric Club Car

Hey guys, my name is Larry, I've been on the forum doing a lot of research lately and have been learning a lot from you guys. I am hoping to get a little advice from some of you guys with more experience with these carts. I have a 99 Club Car DS 36 volt with dead batteries that I acquired in a barter deal. My plan for it is to scrap the batteries and pick up a predator 420cc for it. My first question is, the few people I have seen go from an electric to gas swap have pressed the shaft out of the electric motor and put a sprocket on the shaft to adapt the gas motor to the rear end. Is this the best way to do it or are there any other ways? Also, any advice or opinions on the best torque converter to use and how to set it up. Thanks ahead of time for any input and advice.

Danny, that was another one of my concerns I hadn't figured out yet. I am not sure if there is a good solution for having reverse?

Do you think it would be best to just source one from a Club Car gas model since my cart is a Club Car or is there a better rear end I could swap in there?

Yes I would change out the rear for a gas rear. That way you'd have reverse. Doing any work with the electric rear would be a waste of your time if you plan on using the finished machine for work. Use your time to source out a new differential, I think you'd be happier in the long run.

CC used Kawasaki rear ends on most gas powered carts, I'd look for a big GC dealer and ask whats in their 'junkyard;.

Also, check the classified adds on here and craiigslist

Thanks guys, I really like the idea of going with the gasser rear end and having reverse. I am definitely going to start looking for one of those kawasaki rear ends. Another reason I think that is a good idea is because I wont have to tear up my good electric motor and I am assuming the electric motor and rear end are parts I should be able to sell to supplement the cost of the gas engine swap. With my cart being a good running electric cart aside from the dead batteries are there other parts that are worth selling besides obviously recycling the old batteries?
