Default Using a EZGO Marathon gas tank with clone swap?

I have a 1994 EZGO Marathon that had the 4 cycle engine in it. The engine threw a rod so I decided to install the Harbor Freight 420 Predator clone in it. My question is, can I retain the stock gas tank? Or will there be fitment issues? I ordered the VG swap kit to make the install easier. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Using a EZGO Marathon gas tank with clone swap?

It's no problem to retain the EZGO tank. I did, as have many others. I went with the pulse pump that is original to the cart and two rubber fuel lines, one for the gas and one for vacuum. I use a carb/vacuum adapter. Some guys tap into the vacuum under the valve cover. One issue I have with a pulse pump set up is running along a fence line on our farms with the fence on my right. It elevates the cart on that side as much as a foot in places and the pulse pump can't keep up pumping the gas uphill. It also can't keep up running wide open down the road because the vacuum drops the higher the RPM is.

I tried using an electric fuel pump and a 1 PSI regulator but it overwhelmed the carb. So I put a bypass line in back to the tank (not seen in this pic). Still overwhelmed the carb. That's when I decided to use a pulse pump.
