Default Briggs 23 Fuel Shutoff Block Off?

I have disabled the fuel shutoff solenoid, but it is still installed. It sticks out the back of the carb like a sore thumb.

What are you all using as a block off? Bolt? Should I need sealant on the threads? Pics please.

I use a bolt with a copper washer. Just like your oil drain plug would use.

Any idea what thread it is? It's still in the cart, so I'd like to get one before I take it all apart.

A smart boy would figure out what thread needle jet assembly will screw into it. This is a conversion I did for a 22 hp Predator. Removed the fuel solenoid - IT IS THE SAME THREAD AS THE JET KIT FOR A 390 - so I did a little machine work. It's in the pictures -- I got the fuel/air mixture screws out and replaced with standard 390 carburetor brass needles. There's more to it then this but when your finished you'll need no tools to adjust your carburetor - at the shop or out on the trail.

Shepard I dont think this would work on my Vanguard 23 carb. It has an electric solenoid on the bottom that is for shutting off the fuel when the key is off. I've removed the shutoff plunger tip, but I'd like to remove the whole solenoid for clearance reasons.

It's no big deal really, I'll just take it off and match up a bolt. Just wondered if someone had a cool modification for this.

I used a needle on a 23hp vanguard I had and the 18hp with dual carb I have now. I’ll look for a part number for you when I get home.

This would definitely not work on my carb. In the pic, the part I'm talking about is the big round cylinder on the bottom. The threads are like a 1/2 inch size bolt, but it must be fine thread.

This pic isn't my carb, but just like it. It's a newer 23hp Vanguard.
