Honda 24hp clutch issues
Hey group, I’m a new member in need of some technical advise, I just recently picked up a ez go cart with a Honda 24hp, it has the original ez go clutch on it I’m assuming, will post pics. When you start the cart it wants to start pulling rite away, I changed the belt out for the 1357 an lowered the idle the most I could on the cable adjustments. I checked the spring an it seems to be good? Any advice? Thanks

Re: Honda 24hp clutch issues
Yep, that's going to happen when using a golf cart clutch. You'll be better off with a Comet 780 or a CV Tech 06 primary clutch...

Re: Honda 24hp clutch issues
The problem is that someone already cut the crank and probably used a clutch adapter on that engine.
So then their would not be enough shaft left to properly mount a 780, or cv clutch. Might be best to figure out what is wrong with the clutches you have now. Could be as simple as to tight belt tension. |

Re: Honda 24hp clutch issues
Time to pull that clutch off and inspect it. It's possible that it's worn out. Things like flat spots on rollers and dished sheaves will cause the clutch to have problems.
Did the clutch ever operate properly? If so, it could be time for a new one, might be the easiest solution. |

Re: Honda 24hp clutch issues
Make sure you buy a genuine Comet clutch, reputable companies are telling people they have them and are selling Ching Chang knockoff junk. I will elaborate later if need be.

Re: Honda 24hp clutch issues
Here is the correct tool to use:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Golf-Cart-C...4AAOSwEeFVAFwA I have also heard in the past people use a rubber mallet on the inside sheave but that can be dangerous so be careful. -AW |

Re: Honda 24hp clutch issues
Yes, you need a clutch puller tool. If you use anything else it might damage the clutch.
