Default 23hp Vanguard Install ????

Hey guys I am putting in my vany, I have a few questions, I am using a performance v twin billet K & N, I noticed there is no hole in the intake for the breather hose, What do u suggest I do with that, put a hole in the billet, and then run a hose to it, or just put a little filter right of the valve cover, and then one other thing, choke hook up, does any one have any photos of how they hooked up a choke cable bracket, etc. thanks

You may want to connect the breather to the intake hose, here's why - When the engine is running, it creates a positive pressure inside of the crank case. This leads to poor ring seat and can gun up the ring lands. Another reason is - when you create a negative pressure inside the crank case, you gain HP, the rings seal along with less stress on you valve seals and engine gaskets. Some of you fellow GM gear heads may be familiar with a positive crank case pressure issue with the 3.8L Turbo engine found in the Grand Nationals and Turbo Coups, with their leaking oil pans (URGH!!!)...

Well it doenst have a intake hose, it has a billet block with a k & N filter on it, so I need to get a hole machined into the intake adapter, and run a hose from the valve cover to there,

Piece of cake! All you need to do is drill a hole large enough for a 1/4" pipe tap and tap the hole. Go down to you local Home Cheapo and grab a barbed fitting and an appropriate size hose. Install the fitting and hose, then your done!
I would recomend putting some pipe dope on the threads to enhance a tight seal and to keep the dirt out.

Don't need choke cable - Just pump the throttle a couple of times and it will build a fire.
Don't get any colder in CA than here in FL does it?

That's an interesting thought.... But I have to use the choke on my stock workhorse all the dang time. Is the V-twin gonna act differently?
