Not sure how a stock ezgo is a performance clutch? But yes, that method works to remove a clutch. Just make sure you only use Castrol GTX. Also a longer bolt will do the same job. I usually use a longer bolt with a smooth end to push on the crankshaft, then thread it in using an impact. Pops it right off. Typically you can buy the correct tool for clutch removal from a golf cart supplier found on the sponsors page.

The stock Robin engines have a tapered crankshaft. The only clutches you can use will also have the same taper. Most of the aftermarket clutches will be 1" straight shaft, these will not fit. You would have to find a performance clutch with the 30mm taper.

It pays to do a little searching...

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/clone...zgo-clone.html

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...en-clutch.html

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...-question.html

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-...en-clutch.html

Search and read all you can. Read between the lines and don't just take one persons word as gospel. Use your judgement. Learn how these carts work and you'll be able to get what you want.

Happy reading.

Thanks man
The 1st thread has some detaled info in it. Just what i was looking for. And I was searching.
Im headed back from CT Rebuilders with a 375 in the back of the truck.
I will read the other 2 this weekend.
I just want you to know im not a lazy poster. I try to find the info my self before asking questions that have ben asked before( especially in the same thread) cause I know it in here somewhere.
Some reason i was coming up empty. Tried every wording i could think of. I thought there would be a clutch sticky somewhere. But no
I talked to Carrie about cluches while she tore down my core to try and grasp the function and what i should do better.
Thanks for your help

Sometimes you have to search this site with google, like many forums the search does not always get what you are looking for.

You lose power when the clutches are not working properly for the most part, old carts people don't service and the clutches can get out of shape. There are some mods to help them work better like different belts and springs, depending on what cart it is. I actually have an aftermarket comet 94c for an ezgo on my G9 Yamaha with a 420 clone in it, using an adapter lol. The ezgo clutch is just closer to the engine than the g9 version of 94c. Not sure I'd recommend the 94c though its not always smooth, it does work well off road on trails not the best in the yard. It is adjustable, so I can run my clone at about 4200 shift now. A roller clutch is better but hard to find for a cart. I don't know that much about stock ezgo clutch, it may work or maybe not. If you are using a near stock engine a stock clutch might be fine. Mine has a cam in it now and it needs to rev higher, and the stock G9 clutch for example is very hard to change the rpm it runs at.
