Default Champion rocker users chime in here.

Are you using your stock push rod length or are you using the length VC says to use? I bought a set and didn’t know we should use the other length or I would have bought them at the same time.

When I set up my VC440/460 I used the custom length chromo pushrods. You can't just assume the pushrods are the correct length when using upgraded performance valvetrain components. Here's a good video explaining the process in detail. Now, you don't "have to" do it like this lol. However, there is a right way and a wrong way.

I ended up using an adjustable pushrod (aka pushrod checker) to get the length right.

Interesting guys, When I installed 1:3 rockers on my GX670 I bought larger diameter rods for strength but the same length. Do you think there is value in going through this?

Slonomo, yeah I’d thought they were good with stock chromo that come with the kit. When u buy them, it doesn’t say you need different length pushrods tho. That’s what sux, I would have bought them all at the same time.

95viper, yes I would check them as you may be losing some lift which may be some power. I don’t know if a Honda is different, but every higher ratio rocker I’ve ever seen says to check the pushrod length for the correct geometry for no issues and performance.

The pushrods I bought were "cut to fit" from Vegas Carts.

I have the Russell Thompson units he made for me @ 6.70 and VC later came out with the 6.74. I came in pretty close with my running a caliper prong thru the rocker arm down to the top of the earlier VC units for the stud mounted rocker.

You have a pic of that caliper prong setup?
A push rod length checker I think is $30 plus shipping
Did you use a softer spring also during your checking?

Both of my vernier calipers have a prong depth gauge that comes out on the opposite side of the measuring jaws. For the actual measurement I set the valve not being measured at max lift then measured the other one with the "depth gauge " thru the adjuster hole down to the push rod. I of course had to take out the lash adjuster bolt and nut to measure. I don't see how the valve spring force would come into play doing it this way. Without the calipers you could put something like a wooden dowel thru the rocker mark where the top of the rocker arm is and subtract the distance needed to get the adjustment bolt in side the mid range of the rocker adjustment.
