87 octane ok with thin head gaskets on vanguard 23hp.
The new motor I bought came with a set of the thinner head gaskets. If I install them can I still run low octane gas say 87? Are they hard to install?

They aren't gonna amount to much. MAYBE .1 in compression. If you were talking a full point then you "might" have some concern. It isn't worth it "to me" to take them off just to install thin head gaskets. If you just bought a new motor why do you want to tear into it. You may void warrantee.
EDIT*. I was thinkin ezgo 295 for some reason. |

Just got the first test ride in bhfear's 23 Vanny. Stock motor turning 25s. He and weigh 500#. I aint telling who's bigger. But I drove it and on reg gas it yanked good enough......no stuff.
