Default ezgo motor swap?

i have a 89 marathon... good shape ran great till the rings went. replaced them... now the fuel pump went... no time to fix... solution= replace it... whats the easiest thing to swap... i can do anything myself but im on a small budget. i was thinking a street bike motor to a quad rear end? ive seen similar setups. i want to retain the stock rear end... but it doesnt look acheiveable??

thanks

Jordan

Let me get this right.... you don't have time to fix a fuel pump but......
you have time to build some kind of frankenstein cart on a small budget doing everything yourself.....
ok, moving on... seems you asked almost 2 questions...
first, "whats the easiest thing to swap" I'm going out on a limb here but my first thought is a fuel pump
second sorta question. "i want to retain the stock rear end... but it doesnt look acheiveable??" it would if you fix the fuel pump...... duh

well the fuel pump is toast and it would be an easy fix. I just put new piston and rings but the rod is so sloppy and the compression is so low it's probably gonna need a full rebuild. If I fix the fuel pump it run but not for long. So I wanted to put something bigger in.

Thanks

why is the compression low if you just did the top end? the rod on a 2 cycle moves back and forth.

The walls looked when I replaced the piston. And the cheapest thing would be to fix this motor. I know that but if I was to consider a bigger engine what would be the easiest way to get decent power.
