Default sources for B&S V-twins

anyone know of a list that shows what riding mowers use horizontal-shaft V-twins?

any other sources for the motors? i've seen riding mowers/garden tractors with 20hp+ engines going for around $500 lately at auction (viewed them online, so couldn't inspect to check out of if was vert or horizont.)

saw a fella here got a vanguard out of a carpet cleaning machine. what other sources are out there, that one might not normally think about?

wish i could. i've already gotten, "you are NOT spending 1500 on a motor for that stupid golf cart!"

i've come to realize in the last 8 years of being married, that everything i enjoy is stupid. stupid golf cart, stupid video games, stupid aquarium, and on and on...... lol

(never stops me, though)

VERY few lawnmowers came with a horizontal shaft motor. pretty much anything with a stamped steel frame is going to have a vert motor.
older john deere, ariens, bolens will have a horizontal

You might as well get an opposed briggs. You can pick up those for 100-200, everyone wants a ton of money for the v-twins. Some guy on craigslist wanted to sell me a used v-twin for 850. So I said forget it, I will stick with my 50$ opposed motor.
