Default 2000 Club Car 'Turf II Carryall'

I just picked up my first golf cart, and we are having a blast with it. I have been working on cars and trucks for a very long time. Looking to start a big project with it this winter. It seems that most people are swapping engines to get more power. Mine does have the 350cc (Engine Code is FE350D-AS11)... Anyone have any reccomendations as far as 'big block' kits for this engine? I am just trying to decide if I should swap.

Thanks!

Welcom I had the same cart... does your's have 4 wheel cable brakes? The motor in theat cart turns clockwise (CW). The rest of the engines in the world rotate CCW. If you Big Block it Be prepared to run Rev. for Forward and change some gearing but, still have a real FAST reverse? Just a heads up
Your cart look like this?

ya 4 wheel cable brakes. I just did the throttle governer mod, and honestly I thought I would get more out of it. Als noticed that the slow down engine compersson is all but gone. I am going to play around with that some. I removed the grounding wire on the rev limiter... no effect.

Define real fast reverse. Ill go check that out.

I will where can I get new gearing for the diff? I would like to gear it pretty low. Also might weld the diff this winter. We will see.

This is pretty much just being used to haul stuff up and down the hills at our cabin. No need to to much road manners.

Can you point me in the right direction for that? I checked your site and saw some nice stuff, but nothing about big block kits..

1 thing at a time
reverse gear is already a lower gear than forward. It is in all carts. If you big block and run (...are forced to run forward gear for reverse because of engine rotation) you will have a faster cart in reverse than forward. In forward you will have a lower ( slower) gear ratio! I hope that makes sense?
If you want a crawler then you wont need to change the gears.

1) Big block kit = engine swap? If it is a machining of this engine, then it will obviously still have the same rotation direction, therefor the gearing different in forward versus reverse would not change.

2)Is the pinion gear cut at a different angle to change the direction of rotation? I could just swap rear ends with the engine right?

I would want a lower geared forward anyway, so that would not be a problem.
BTW, here is the "crawling" that we link to do(my sons buggy).... Thanks for the help, cant wait to tear this thing down.

They made the rotation change in 1997. Everything before that is CCW. But it sounded like you would like the lower geared forward for hauling stup up your hills?

ya you got it. That is exactly what we want. Do you know who makes the big block setup for this engine?

Thanks again.

You don't big block that engine ..... you replace it with a bigger engine

Like with this 18hp Vanguard kit from Dixie sales and supplies aka CPP
