92 Ez Go Needs Motor
Just found and joined this site. I traded for a 92 Marathon cart that needs a motor. It came with a motor in pieces. From what I've read so for I think I have a 244cc Robin engine, but is missing some other parts(I.E. Starter, fuel pump, etc.). The cart already has already has a lift so my choices for engines is open. I would like to use the cart for some off roading and don't think the stock engine will do. My question is what engine to use and what would I need to change to run in the cart?? Will I have to change the rear end to get reverse or is there another option?? I have a 340cc snowmobile engine I might try to install but would not have reverse. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: 92 Ez Go Needs Motor
Your cart is a 2 stroke stock ???? some 1992 marathons were 4 stroke. If it is a 4 stroke then reverse is in the rear end. If it's the earlier 2 stroke then you will need to change the rear end also. Unless someone knows a trick that I don't. 2 strokes would run in reverse rotation ( backwards) to get reverse in the cart. Hope this helps.

Re: 92 Ez Go Needs Motor
It has the 2 stroke engine so it looks like I will have to change out the rear axle if I want reverse. Does anyone know a good place to find a 4 cycle rear axle??

Re: 92 Ez Go Needs Motor
I've been looking on ebay, craigslist, and other sites. Hoping maybe to find a used one. Found some but none have the clutch included. I assume the 4 cycle driven clutch is different than the 2 cycle driven clutch.
