18HP Vanguard with fuel tank ?s

I have my eye on a 18 vanguard that is the horizontal model and 1" shaft. The sticker is that it's the model with the factory fuel tank on top. You guys know if you can just pull that tank off and run a regular air filter setup?

Yep, no problem. Be sure to check the alternator situation too!!!
