Default Big block of choice...?

I was just curious to what big block is most popular and why.I've been thinking of a big block but a bit $$pricey right now.Just for future reverance, what is the most common, best all around, most upgradeable big block availible?
My cart is used mostly for the hill's,offroading.

vannys seem to have the most aftermarket stuff. most guys running big blocks are running them.

there are a lot of Honda's out there as well, the 20 and 24hp are far more common out west. its true the Briggs have more performance upgrades but the Honda HP parts are becoming more available as the market grows.

I came across a compressor at work that I should be able to get a good deal on.It has a Honda 18hp V-twin with electric start and everything. The motor actually look's pretty big,not sure how it would fit in a cart,or if it would work for a cart at all. Any input???? Anybody.......

Ok,here it is.I picked up my compressor today.I was told it was running but was becoming difficult to start.(that is why they replaced it.)

First thing's first, make sure it run's.Second, use to complete my G2 project. And Third, install engine in to my EzGo.
Not sure if I will be able to use the engine in the cart or not,but regardless I can sure use it around the house.....
Was $50. to much??????..... ..
