quad engine in a g2
i have the opportunity to pick up a 87 Suzuki 250 quad with a pretty beat up body for $200. Anyone have any advice if this would be a hard project (like undoable). I know i would have to install a clutch and a shifter rod.

I can tell you that the pay-off is well worth the time and frustration of putting a quad motor in a cart.
Think about how many of your friends have bad *** shifter golf carts, probably none. This cart right here is sick, and one of the main reasons I decided to build my cart. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/lifte...yamaha-g1.html |

I think that its a great idea I am in the process of putting a 200 honda quad engine in my yamaha g1 you could make your shifter and put your clutch lever on it thats how I think I am going to do with my reverse cable mine doesent have a clutch cable

Re: quad engine in a g2
Im not sure if this thread is still active or not, but I used to have an LT250R Quad Racer. And those 2 strokes are stupid fast, but dont have any torque. Not to mention a lack of an electric starter. And that motors week point is its kick start shaft and gear. It constantly sheers teeth, and the gear and spring is held on by a c clip that commonly wears out and falls off. I dont think it would make a very good cart motor project. Just my .02. Good luck either way.
