Cool 18 horse B&G opposed in 2000 Workhorse

I am in the process of mounting an opposed cylinder B&G 18horse in a 2000 model workhorse. I have the engine in the process of lining it up with the rear end. I have a few questions if anyone could help?

1) I have a clutch puller but still can not get the clutch to come of the old engine. Any suggestions besides keep trying!

2) I am not concerned about top end speed, just torque and not tearing up the rear end or engine. Can I bypass the rear end governor and leave the governor on the engine and just run cable from pedal to the engine. What are the pros and cons of doing it this way?

I am sure after your responses I will have more questions? Thanks in advance.

Welcome 1jstephen to the forum! I think you will find plenty of room in the workhorse engine compartment for your project .... Please remember 1 thing
We need lots of Pictures LOTS...... Check out my workhorse build and keep the questions and pictures coming...... I am excited to see this happen. I see nothing but good... Yes you can use the stock cable to the carb with a little modification..... Turn up the compressor and keep trying or use an electric impact.
Your ear will be your rev-limiter and/or get a tach!

Thanks Scotty, I have taken several picts already and will post when I get a chance. Thanks for the initial information. If I get a tach what RPM's would I want to limit myself to?

Also the modification on the linkage from foot pedal to engine. Are just implying that I will have to mount a small bracket on the engine to give the cable some support, or is their more to it than that?
