There are a lot of things that can cause overnight problems. It could be as simple as the choke staying open to the fuel cap vent being plugged. I would check the spark on both plugs first. It should be a strong blue spark. If it's not, try new plugs and see if there is an improvement. If I have good spark, I would check the fuel delivery system. Remove the fuel line that goes to the carb and crank it. It should spurt out some gas. If it doesn't you need to check the vacuum line for air leaks. Be sure there is fuel, replace the fuel filtrer, it may be plugged. If it still doen't pump you need a fuel pump. After looking and changing this stuff it should run better. If it's still weak I would adjust the valves and test the compression. If you get that far...
Let us know what you find the problem is and if you need more help with a section with the problem. We can and will help you out. There could be a bad coil which we have not discussed. If your spark isn't steady or blue we'll look into the coils at that time...Good Luck Tony

Check your belt and make sure its not worn. What is it having problems doing - hill climbing, top speed?

edit - I like Tony's answer better. :D I didn't see about it running good the day before.

come out the choke was 3/4 close - fixed and its back up and running. What kind of speeds do you think i should get with the stock 16 hp with 12" rims? everything on the motor has not been changed, i also need to relocate the oil filter but not sure what i need to do that

Great. I like the easy fixes...The rim size is not the factor, the overall tire height is the number we need. The other thing is the motor rpm.
The stock cart runs about 3400 rpm to go 14mph. If your motor only turns 3400 it would produce the same speed, but with more power. If your motor goes 5000 you increase the speed by 26% or 14mph to 17.6 mph. It's kind of like that with the rear tires also... Different formula...There's a tire size calculator in here (somewhere) for that. It will say an 18" tire at 14 mph is equal to a 22" tire at Y mph. The size and rpm difference have to be calculated then added together.
It's easier to finish the cart and use a GPS to track your speed Have Fun!

RPM's at full trottle, Gear Ratio, and Tire size
Second blue bar, "Quick Links", scroll down to misc. "speed calculator"

It's actually pretty accurate to a GPS!
