CCP sells just the motor for $1100 I believe. Thats the best price I found on a new one. The clutches will cost you $425 the belt $30 ignition switch $15 Exhaust $100 for starters. Why not just buy Toms kit thats ready to rock out of the box $1800 isnt bad. He has great service I order from him about once every two weeks.

i bought a kit from tom and am so happy that i did. the kit comes with a template for drilling new motor mount holes that takes all of the guess work or measuring out of the process he has done all of the engineering. its not that i couldn't have done it all myself but the kit saved a lot of time and energy. money well spent i would do it again. and it comes with both clutches drive and driven.........

Well a quick search on Craigslist you can find motors. 'horizontal shaft'
is the term that gives me the most results.

Then, you have to wait till you find someone selling a decent engine..good luck.

If yo do take a chance on a twin or something, you're taking a major risk
in the thousands, that the motor is viable, and when rebuild time comes
it won't be too expensive.

I have done some figuring, and by the time I buy all the stuff the kit is the better deal..the engines have a warranty and come from a bona fide
re-seller.

I just have to wait and save what the taxman doesn't get, until I can buy one.
