Header for V twin
Ready to take my 20hp Vanguard to the muffler shop to weld up the headers. I have a kit (first pic, plus a few more pipe bends) that is designed for this motor. My question is it better to have more dual pipe run before the collector (assuming fairly equal pipe lengths) or can I put the collector closer and just run the single pipe where I need it to the muffler? Thanks, Flint.....
Pics are the kit and installed pic from their website. |

For what it's worth, here's a picture of the muffler I'll be runnin....... Any of hotrodders out there have an opinion on dual pipe vs single for the best scavenging effects, or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Re: Header for V twin
Flint this will be a long post. Build and bend the head pipes to an equal length as short as possible. Then build some slip on couplings and some varied length tubes. get a set of timing lights or a method of timing to test. Try the tubes and find the best one and then blend to the collecter and the trap.
