If my memory serves me right a stock 1.6 made about 40hp. I would think their are easier ways to get that kind of power to weight ratio

Where weight is a concern, you are correct. The one I saw was a custom 6 seat limo car with a tringulated 4 link front suspension and had air ride all the way around. Also, the motor was not the stock 40 hp version, I saw aftermarket intake, exhaust, larger carb, etc. I can try to post pics.

Ok here are two pics, I couldn't post them earlier due to my time management constraints.

WTF? Why would anyone lift a cart that high and have NO ground clearance? What's the point???

I've thought of doing SOMETHING like that - i.e. putting a Workhorse body onto a shortened VW pan, but I agree with Gorno, That massive lift and what, 8 inch clearance?
Great idea Bad design |

I think it was intended for use in the sand, at least that is what the owner said he did with it. Ground clearance between the rear wheels would not be as big an issue in the sand. The one thing I would change is that stinger, it would hinder the approach/departure angle.

Ground clearance is measured and determined via BOTH axles, unless he did all his driving with the front wheels in the air, LOL!
