Default Question about Comet 1190

Hey everyone, i got a quick question regarding the Comet 1190 agian.

I just need a dimension off of one, if someone has one thats not installed yet.

I need to know the shaft depth of the clutch. Basically the distance from the back of the clutch to where the inside shaft bore ends.

Thanks

Im just workin on a project and i need that measurement to double check how far the clutch sticks out off of a gx670 in relation to mount bolt holes and such, im tripple checking alignments and such.

Thanks agian

Thats ok scotty.. i was just having a brain fart, but now that i know its a through key.. can someone give me a rough dim of how far the back sheve is from the motor case..

Because here is the story. Im done some evolution 24hp kits in the past that use the 1190.
I happen to have a spare 24hp honda that i bought about 2 years ago localy for one of my "Special" projects.. Now because the 1190 is getting hard to get, stretch doesnt want to sell me the clutch seperately, so i had to imprivise. With full disposal to machining tools and such, i decided to pickup a new comet 108EXP clutch primarly intended for snowmachine use. however you buy it with no spring and weights, and tune for your specific machine. Comet has a 103 series which is made for ATV (4 stroke) use. its slightly smaller then the 108, but uses the same weights and springs. So im in the process of getting the orange spring, and U series weights for the clutch, i will use these as the base point for performance tuning, and go from there.

(comet has 2 series of snowmobile clutches, the 102 for normal performance, and the 108 for racing apps) the 4stroke series (103 for atv use) is similar to the 102 but has a different clutch diameter. the 102, 103 and 108 use the same tuning parts.

Ok so long story short, i would like to know how far away usualy the clutch back is from the motor case (i dont have any gx670/1190 carts at my disposal right now).. I would of used the depth of the 1190 as a reference, but as BBM pointed out that the 1190 is a through key, i had totaly forgotten about that..
The 1190's back im assuming sat flush on the engines crank's "machining lip" from the 36mm org crank size to the 1-1/8" size from the factory)?? but it would be a guess in my case..

I know this is a bit hard to put into words, but i can take pics if anyone is confused... lol im kinda confused too. lol

For the 108, i have a way to key(broach) the inside of the input of the clutch, to work on the 1-1/8" of the honda. I really would like to avoid machining the crank at all costs.

Now the 108 i have now has a 30mm 1:10 taper. So i plan on machining it oversize, then make a sleve that fits onto the honda, and put a taller key on the shaft to make it all fit snug. However deep i machine the inside of the clutch will determine how far the clutch sticks out..

Oh and btw, this 108 is one heck of a nice clutch
