What year is the ezgo workhorse?
1st thing you will need is an new engine cradle.
If you look at the ezgo engine cradle you will see it is 3 pieces a front and rear section which both bolt to the motor .....
As far as height goes the clone motor will fit under the seat. But it will be a tight fit front to back because of the starter location... You can do this swap but I'm not gonna recommend it.... You are going to go to all the trouble and expense of installing a big block with out the reaping the power reward. Some of the things you will need to buy or make are
engine cradle
drive clutch
fuel delivery system
throttle cable setup
drive belt
air cleaner
ignition switch and circuit
I suggest you hold out or save up for a bigger B&S motor. They are more suited to the rpm response needed for a golf cart too.

Hope this helps .... lets see what other members think?

i do agree with you about the cost vs benifits if i had an intact running 99 workhorse. But i dont i bought the workhorse for $140.00, it is missing the motor drive clutch air cleaner starter and probally few other misc items. so using this as is or putting it back to stock would be more than a big block conversion, but i aquired a honda gx390 ( not a clone) for 350.00. I only will be using this on a campgroung by the lake on pavement 95% of the time. i figure i will have another 500.00 in clutch, belt and misc,so for the cost and use i think this is my best route espically if i dont have to buy lift kit and all the other accessories required to go with it. Have i convinced you yet! lol Also i do also have 2 other club cars one of which i would like to do a big block conversion on some day when the funds are in better shape!

WOW you stole that one, Should be a good cost effective way to go. Scottys correct on things you will need to complete install. We offer a engine carrier and drive clutch if you decide to go that route. You may also find a good used engine and such here.
