Default Kohler CH740S 27hp v twin

I got one for free i work at at a hardware that has a pro power house. They were throwing out some engines the v twin caught my eye, Needs to be rebuilt. It has the pass through shaft style so i dunno if i should waste my time taking it apart and even thinking about putting it in my g19. What all would be involved and is it worth me taking the time to take it all apart to find out what's wrong?

Maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet to understand but what's a "pass through shaft" ?

A lot of mowers have a shaft coming out of both sides of the engine. The one that comes out of the flywheel side is bolted on, just unbolt it and take it off!

duh!, ok, I got it. thanks.
You should let me have that engine, it's not good enough for a yamaha. maybe good enough for an ezgo but not a yamaha.
