Default Don't know what to do.

I have a 2003 ezgo st. the problem i have is that i have a sound system in it along with 2 extra batteries. i primarily use it at bike rallies, so the stop and go of the parade routes really drain the batteries. i was wondering if i put a briggs 18hp with a 16amp alt, would that be enough to keep my batteries charged. Thanks for your time

Is it a key start or pedal start? If you could idle the engine to keep it charging, I would think that would solve your problem?

There is a kit that you can buy that will allow your cart to idle. Check with Tom at CPP tomorrow. I think he sells the kit?

Good luck

Might be a pain in the a** but I have 2 batteries on mine with a relay. One feeds the cart the other feeds the stereo and lights ect.. This way I can only drain down the accessory battery and the cart still starts. when you start the cart it will then charge both batteries. WORKS AWESOME This cart is at the cottage and I can't remember exactly how we did it but I think it was pretty easy to set up- buddy of mine helped me with it. I believe the relay was a standard Ford relay and went between the alt and the accessory battery and involved switching things up a little. Or course you need to sneak in another battery

I already have 3 batts on. i am running two amps plus i have a relay. i spoke with the guy from cpp and he said that the stop and go, stop and go really drains the batts. so i bought the bypass and the stiffer spring.
