Default COMET 780 problem-?

I looked on the site pretty well and couldn't find a diagram or a "how to" post on how to disasemble/service a COMET 780 clutch. Hate to tear it up taking it apart. Mine won't disengage or "clear". I took it off tonight and it doesn't look like it opens all the way..... the round cover doesn't sit flush on the outside of the cheek. The clutch doesn't open wide enough for the belt to slip inside of it. Could it just have dirt or something making it stick? I have about 50hrs on an 18hp Vanguard in an '03 EZ-GO. Bought the pipe, mount, belt, both clutches from CPP. HELP!! PLEASE!! I need the cart to pull my leaf sweeper, we're buried in oak leaves. Thanks in advance..

Thanks Ron, hopefully I can make it open up completely. It had worked great----just like an automatic transmission. Start it up in neutral, shift it into gear, no grind or surge. It would sit and idle in gear not holding the brake. Seemed to have plenty of pull for working around the property or zooming around the neighborhood. Thanks again!
