Cool Honda or Vanguard? Which one is better?

I am looking to put a big-block kit in my Yamaha g-16 and I need to know which one is better. The vanguard kits are a little cheaper but the Honda ,I would think would have more performance upgrades available. I don't know so I am asking all you big block guys for your thoughts.

Actually KW, that's backwards. There are more after market and performance parts for the Briggs than the Honda. And there is more available for the Honda GX670 than the GX620.
I have a 620 and I need to make most of the parts I need/want.

The Briggs are great motors and there are tons of performance parts out there for them. Decide what motor you want and talk with Tom at CPP about clutch options etc. Or buy the turn key kit from CPP and be up and running over the weekend.

Either way, good luck and enjoy

I like the Briggs Vanguard engines. If you go with a Briggs, get the rev kit.

thanks guys. I did a little more research and you right. I think I will go through Tom. Its just going to take me 3 months to save the cash to pay for one.LOL Right now I just have to fix the clutch on mine to get by. What a headache. I have the cover off,and the big bolt out, I am using the puller to remove the clutch and all of a sudden it starts to turn easier and I see that the starter pulley is turning when I ratchet and the motor is turning also. I don't think I separated the motor from the shaft if the motor turns at the same time? I don't know what to try now.

Use an impact and hold the pulley from moving...
