Re: oil filter
I just ran into that same problem on a G-9. What is usually done to take care of this. Longer belt ? Relocate the oil filter?

Re: oil filter
normally you would have to use a longer belt, (somewhere around 45") did cpp not tell you what size you should use or provide it in the kit? the oil filter is in a bad location anyway for this application, I have to take my rearend stabilizing bracket off to even change the oil filter on my cart. an oil filter relocation kit is a good idea, there is a thread about that here.

Re: oil filter
I fabbed my own engine mount. I think mine will work . It will just make more work when I need to change the oil.

Re: oil filter
I have not heard of using the stock belt with a big block install. most use the Columbia/HD belt. It is 47.5 x 1 3/16 and allows for the motor to move a couple of inches forward. Cheaper than the snowmobile belts..... also there is a long and short filter for that motor. Don't know is that is an issue for you? Hope this helps.

Re: oil filter
Briggs makes a relocation kit and a remote filter block off. I went remote with an automotive filter adapter for a VW, had the hoses custom made, puts more oil in the system and easy to change. I also extended the drain with pipe and plug......

Re: oil filter
Well, since we're talking the Briggs P/N I have is 1BRP492687, $51.00 from dealer! Fits a 20 hp, probably more. My advice on the hoses is to eliminate any of the adapters that come with the filter mount kit, have a hose shop make them up for you with a swivel on one end and try not to go over 14-15" on hose length. I rebuilt my oil pump when I had the engine apart and from personal experience it puts out plenty of flow!
