Think this will work?
I know that there's the big 'rear end problem' in post 97 club cars.
I've been trying to read around everywhere and the only bit of information I can come up with is it will work, you just need to put it in REVERSE to go forward. however after mocking it up a little but, it looks like it wouldnt work with the reverse belt direction, as it will be PUSHING on the top of the belt and not PULLING, like it was made to. The solution? Rear mount the engine. |

Re: Think this will work?
Pushing or pulling is not a problem.
You must have a driven clutch made for ccw rotation(the plastic wear shoes on the helix). |

Yes It makes a dif, I am not a club car man and some
one else may jump in. The clutch may be reversible or one way, I just wanted to point it out before you got to far |

Re: Think this will work?
I've seen a couple of carts done here in AZ like that.
Call CC's. Snow engine rear mounted. The Driven is directional it must spin the same direction as it did stock. It may work somewhat just because of the belt tension Or it will just stay shut. Because the helix is angled the other way. I would mount the engine temporarily with clamps and just run it up a bit and see how it does. |

Re: Think this will work?
Thats the driven. Im told that a mechanic can rebuild it so it will work in the reverse direction. So with the rear mounted engine, reversed driver clutch, and tranny in Reverse, everything should work, right? |
