Default Vanguard motor run on

Have a vanguard 16hp when i kill power on key the motor has about a 5-7 sec run on then shuts off. Any ideas i have the ign wire out of box on motor hooked up to key power. Any body else have this problem?

Check your ground wire to the motor/ frame, mine drove me crazy. You might also see if you have a fuel shut off solenoid in the bottom of the carb. There will be a wire with a quick connect that can come loose.

No fuel shut off solinoid .there is a male connector on front of engine but don't know what it's for i was thinking low oil light sensor maybe.

Do you have any other ground? I believe that grounds the key switch to the motor.....Also make sure no part of the starter motor connections are touching the frame under there........

That male termial is for diode wire witch is what will kill motor
must be hooked up check your wiring if it is hooked and still does not shut off than diode wire is bad tom has them i had same problem at first

Thats the shut off, Ground it to kill engine

Worked on cart today got run on problem taken care of thanks! hooked up diode to ign and took care of problem kill the key engine dies immediately.
