It depends on what you are going to do with it. The 13hp single cylinder would be the easiest to install because the Briggs twin cylinder is pretty wide. You'll probably get more torque from the Briggs though. I hope that helps. Here's a picture of a Briggs twin in my Yamaha G9.

I need lowend power I don't care about speed. Factory motor was fast enough. Cart is used on farm (mud, hills). Cart has 5inch lift with 22x11x10 589's.

The Briggs twin will give you a lot of raw torque. Since you don't want speed I would go with the briggs. I'm running 22x11x10 tires and I'm getting around 22mph at 3800 rpm. Fast enough for me. My clutch is a combo of clutchs. It starts with a comet 94C snowmobile clutch. I put the pucks out of my Yamaha Comet clutch in it, put a light spring form Ace Hardware in it and it works good. You will probably need to talk to CPP to get your correct clutch, because I had to do some altering to make mine fit. Good luck.

personally i'd put the twin in if i had it, but i bought a 16 hp honda clone for my 97 club car. for me i'd use the through shaft on the twin so it would turn my clockwise transaxel the right direction. like you i mostly need torque. i can get speed with gears and tires if i need it.

Just John. Yes I made my own engine mount using1/4" thick steel and welding it together. I put slots in it to slide the engine forwards or backwards. I also put slots in the 1/4" steel so I can slide the engine left or right to align the clutchs. It is a lot of work and a very tight fit. I changed the clutch that you see in the picture to a regular 94C clutch without the pulley for the starter generator. That gave me a little more room to move it left or right. I use the starter that came with it. It keeps my battery charged no problem. It is an 18HP. Thanks. Here are some pictures of how I did my shaft. I cut the tapered end off of my old stock engine and had it drilled out to fit the 1" Briggs shaft. Again, not easy but can be done if you have a machine shop.
