Re: 18 horse need help
it a vany.it has the gov.removed, high rev. kit,4 deg. timing key, high com. head gaskets.it seems to run fine from the start (lots of torque) but when you hold it to the floor and get realy flying it starts to sputter and then dies.you have to realy pat the gas petal to get it to restart.i think it is the stock fuel pump or the way i have it connected. oh by the way it in a 95 ezgo.

Re: 18 horse need help
It sounds to me like it's being starved for fuel? I woulld check my tank vent to make sure it is working properly. It just sounds like when it's called on to deliver more fuel, it falls flat and then requires re-priming to get it to run again.....
That's all I got ford. This is how my Honda is hooked up. The pump is on the front of the motor.... |

Re: 18 horse need help
I agree with the Ess, sounds like fuel starvation. Check your vacuum lines for cracks or blockages, new or rebuild of the fuel pump next. Guys run hi volume and electric pumps, but I don't think that's necessary for your engine. Mikuni makes a nice hi volume if you want to try it.....
edit: OOps, Ron beat me to it!!!! |

Re: 18 horse need help
Ford, I'm no expert on that but I think every one I've seen or read about has tapped a hose barb fitting into a valve cover. Let's see what others have to say???
