Default v-twin wires

hey guys this is my first 16hp v-twin engine and i see some few loose wires going to the carb and few going into a aluminum box i was wondering if anyone can tell me what they are for

my main concern is the one going to the carb do i need that hooked up to POSITIVE on the battery or ??? to make it run ?

i got the key switch to the engine but i do not no how to hook it all up can anyone help with this so i can get this puppy to start :)

when i spray starting fluid in the carb it runs in till it runs out and die's out, and i also have a tank full of gas going to the carb and its getting gas through the fuel pump, do u think its because of the solenoid not being hooked up ??? to my answer for not starting ???

Are you talking about the antifire solenoid in the carb?

yes.... if that solves my problem on why it will not fire up using gas from my tank, and starts perfect with starting fluid

I removed mine, it was all burnt up. I would GUESS that when energized it opens, closes when power is removed so yes, that would keep the motor from running.

ill remove it and try to find something to plug the hole and see if that works

I plugged mine, but have heard that you can just cut the plunger off the end of the solenoid and then put it back in.

the guy gave me the key switch that came off the mower that goes to this motor but mine has 6 pins and the diagram it shows 5 for the briggs diagram ???????
