Default governor removal??????

can you take the govenor off without doing the timing advance key or the rev kit....

on ccp oe clutch adapter how long is the spacer that comes in the kit???

do you have to remove the weights from the cam.....will it actually hurt anything if you dont???

All depends on what engine you are talking about.

The spacer is around 1" maybe more I forget, the adapter is 1" iirc the crank can be no more than 1 1/8 to use adapter...from spacer to end or crank shoulder to end. I never used the spacer because the clutch was further away from the engine without it than stock. There is no way the engine would fit with any spacer in there, I would have cut it more if the crank didn't have a shoulder on it. That was a clone in a G9.

That 16hp has a gear with weights. We took the gear out and pressed the pin back in, removed shaft from top to outside and tapped it for a pipe plug. They said it might do 5K with no kit or springs, and it might, but it really stops revving there.

I don't think it would hurt to leave the weights on but if you have the cam out just grind the back of the rivets and pop them out. Less reciprocating mass on the cam. And yes, do the rev kit, the timing advance key is nowhere near as critical as the rev kit!

i forgot to put what engine i have,,, 16hp briggs model 303447..... thanks for the responses..... i dont really want to take the cam out,,,,or grind the weights off,,, for right now,,,, i might later,,, for now,,,, money real tight and dont want to blow this motor up,,,,

Do what you can do, but its way easier to do that stuff before you drop it in the cart.
