Default Did you get rid of your Big Block? Why?

Was looking at a site listing a bunch of nice BB carts that most of were sold. Got to wondering why people get rid of them, just curious. Did you move to a side by side, want a different setup for some reason, want a newer/different cart, a new build, you moved and can't run it, economic issue, got tired of it? Just wondering, thought maybe some setups are better than others so people are switching.

I've been researching the side by sides for my family for a while now. Truth is, with the exception of a little stock RZR or a farm utility, I'm not sure why people are buying any them here in Michigan. The ORV trails are limited to a 50" width. All of them are over the limit, Rhino's included. The RZR is cool, but I think before I sank 10k+ into a plain jane model, I'd buy a couple a nice quads instead so both riders could drive. The RZR4 is sweet and has my heart, but again, over Michigan's trail limit. Plus at $14k, and what you get for the money when you review them, they're out of their minds. I think I'd pimp out a custom 4 seat buggy before that.

We have a 41' Cyclone toy hauler and drive our EZGO in campgrounds. They don't allow ATV/UTV's there. So golf carts it is. So for our money, we're thinking a long travel EZGO limo with big block and cage like Wicked and MMT's build. That way we can still hit the trail when we want.

Just our .02.

Some big issues where I run too, people don't mind carts near as much I've had the DNR let me go before with no ORV even...not that I recommend that or that it will happen again lol. People don't mind them when they are quiet, I have slid through back yards and nobody complained (to get to another trail), they wave at you and the kids love them. I also run around some cottages and they don't care about carts, but they don't like the UTV/quads they are way too noisy and tear up the road when they turn. You are not required to wear a helmet on a 'normal' looking cart far as I know, or nobody is going to enforce it that I have met. And yes, even the Chinese UTV are expensive, I just had a guy tell me why not buy a jeep? Most of the trails there are logging trails so most are car wide, but not always and sometimes you have to go into the woods to get around massive mud holes. Some other trails here are the 50" a guy there with a quad was talking about one he went on with another guy and no way can UTV use it. For the money I think I'd also rather have more carts or get quads. Now they are hammering quads/UTV around there for some reason but carts not so much, as some of the trails are not for ATV use I guess though many are seldom used anyway. GC don't take much gas as well, but they don't go as fast either...but that can be a nice limit too I like to floor whatever I am driving lol.

not many big block carts selling around here in nor cal. If I could get a fair price I would sell my cart in a instant. I have gotten way more into my bronco 2 than my golf cart.

I think the answer may be that there are many who just enjoy the build ... For them it is more fun to sell and make another badder or bigger or faster cart

I'm still enjoying mine
2000 Ezgo Workhorse
25 hp Subaru Robins V-Twin
1190 Comet Clutch
Strech Long travel Front
Custom Long Travel Rear
4 Wheel Disc Brakes
25x12x10 Dirt Devels

Eventually we want a side by side. A RazrS. The places we go the cart just wasn't tough enough and wasn't really interested in putting more money into it to improve the ride. The sandrail is up for sale too. We just really like the side by sides. The places we ride it's the way to go.

I agree that they're superior to a cart, even a super modified cart, however...if the law limits them to your yard...they're worthless.

I do so much other stuff with my cart, I'd have to add another ATV to it if I wanted one. The area there is mostly wooded, lot of tight trails you can't even run a side by side on. They are great on a cart you can go slow and pic your way near anywhere even right through the woods. Also all the yard work and putting around the place talking to other people, I haul stuff in it all the time. I'd almost like to make a tiny cart with a 6.5hp just to ride around near the house, more like a minibike type thing for slower speeds....maybe some kind of bar stool racer for offroad.
