Did they check the wiring carefully? A short or broken wire inside the insulation can do that. I've not worked on one of those in a while, but iirc there not much to the ignition right? Does that one ground to turn it off, if so see if it is grounded check at the key or on/off switch if it has one.

well i did not have a wire harness so they made one using a new key switch i bought.....they said they also tested it through jumper cables and still no spark.....on my engine there are no wires only for the charging system and a wire going to the fuel solenoid.....

Most lawn engines the oil level sensor and key or kill switch simply ground the mag on the flywheel to stop the spark. If it has a pickup under the flywheel and a CDI/Ignitor box, well those run on 12v or sometimes on the flywheel and are different. No CDI box every one I have seen grounds, if you have a wiring diagram you can tell as there is no 12v power source and if you test take off the ground from the key/switch and it should run....test that wire and with kill/switch to "off" it will connect to the mag (to ground and kill it) and set to "run" it will not. Mag (magneto) is the coil on outside of flywheel with spark plug wire out of it, not a coil like a car or motorcycle has that is mounted outside of the engine. Mounted over the flywheel magnet a mag ignition powers itself and requires no battery, only the starter needs 12v to operate. Any weedeater/chainsaw/pushmower/most lawn tractors use them. The engine will have a coil inside the flywheel on either kind that charges the battery, but most golf carts they put that coil in the starter generator instead.

What might be better to do, is take the wire off that connects the mag to the key switch, then it can't ground. If that does not work and its a mag ignition the mag is bad. Unless it has other wires that do things, most don't. Note if the oil level sensor is grounding it because its faulty, it will never start.

The B&S are supposed to have this new magnetron or whatever ignition, but mostly all it seems to do is use a transistor to pop the coil when the magnet goes by in a better way than they used to. I read some on it but they didn't get specific. The coil is grounded to create the spark but only when the magnet is there, at the right time to make a big spark as it dumps all the current out of it. This is all contained in the mag.

The spark finds the easyest path... For some reason the sparkplugs was not the easyest path....
