Questions about 23hp Vanguard
I was debating on whether to purchase this motor set-up for my cart from CPP. Can any of you tell me just how loud is this? I go to a lot of campgrounds where noise is not always tolerated very well. Also how is the low end for pulling trailers around at low speed? Any guggestions would be greatly appreciated.
BTW it is a G9 Yamaha cart |

Re: Questions about 23hp Vanguard
Hi Traceman, I have a 23h Vanguard in my street legal G9 and I take it to camp grounds all the time with no problems at all. I put silencer/muffler on it from a LTZ400 Suzuki quad. Huge difference, very quiet with lots off low end torque. Pulls a trailer just fine and I have even pulled my 20" Rinker with it. Great motor!

Re: Questions about 23hp Vanguard
Now that's what BGW is about Thanks for the posts guy's. I'd post Wilsons "sound check" but the Supertrap muffler is alittle on the noisey side

Re: Questions about 23hp Vanguard
Another option would be to go with the 18 HP kit with cam and rev kit and low tone muffler. Puts out about 23 HP sounds badass at idle and about the same volume as the stock golf cart.

Re: Questions about 23hp Vanguard
I have the same issue. Put a 16hp clone in and used a turbo car muffler, its about 13" long case small oval. It is about like a large single lawnmower, deep sound, not that loud but thumps. Of course that is a 420cc single too. It is not that much louder than a stock cart from a distance but is louder. It has no tailpipe on the muffler also car mufflers work better with them. I am going to try a normal quiet car muffler on mine when I put one in found one 12" long case. Trying to get more videos of this one and have to figure out why my account at google is not working to post them. IMO its going to take a lot to get as quiet as stock can hardly hear my G9. Also when you let off this one it gets louder for some reason.
