Default Yamaha G9(?) Rear end input shaft splines. What sprocket will work?

I'm planning a bike engine install, and have been browsing the threads. I have a Yamaha rear, but no clutch/pulley and am wondering if anyone knows what will work with the input shaft splines? Is there a certain motorcycle/ATV manufacturers countershaft sprocket that will slip right on.? An adapter of some sort? I have fabrication means, just need to find something that will fit the splines. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Rib, just what I was looking for. I had thought about the machined hub idea, but didn't trust the cast aluminum to hold the turbo'd 1000 kawi engine thats going to be in it...

Yeah I didn't think that cast aluminum looked that strong.

I did see that, but wasn't ready to ASSume that the ez's and yamaha rears use the same spline input shaft.

So I guess that means that you are saying they are the same? Do the clutches interchange?

Mines still in the box,not doing me anygood. 50.00 plus 4.75 shipping. All I can tell you is whats on the gear, "martin 50btb16 1610" and it fits the splines on a Yamaha input shaft. I will also add, the splined section seems to be from the original Yamaha spring seat, witch is aluminum. Good luck on your build.

Thanks for the offer Smallblock, I might have to take you up on it.

I'm still searching for an answer. The input shaft is a 19 spline unit, 24.6mm in dia. Does ANYONE have any idea what sprocket would work? Short of getting another reversing rear to use, i'm running out of options for my build.

I had no luck. I bought the 'machined hub' sprocket from smallblock. It literally is the center hub from a stock drive clutch machined to fit a machine spur gear. With the proper parts, any machine shop with a lathe should be able to help you out. Good luck!

OMFG! Okay I might be over reacting a bit but I believe I might of found a way to install a sprocket to the Yamaha input shaft. Sorry this is a long post... EZGO uses a 19 spline coupler that couples the motor to the differential, I hope to god this is the same, I'll be ordering one and if it does fit the Yamaha splines I'll weld a small sprocket from a CBR 600 bike engine (525 chain) to this coupler. I chose this sprocket cause the hole in the center is bigger than the 24.6mm Yamaha input shaft that way I don have to grind it out. I'll keep you all updated with pictures. I will also be supporting the shaft with a pillow block bearing 20mm (I freaking love eBay)!! Type in google search "ezgo 19 spline coupling" and prepare to unzip!
