Re: having problems with BB
The wires from the coils that go to the kill terminal on the engine probably came off.

Re: having problems with BB
well there is a kill switch on the side of the engine that looks like a bolt with a nut on it and that part came out....does the coil wires connect to that ?

Re: having problems with BB
If its the kill terminal its in the side panel. The coil wires connect to the back (faston tabs) & kill switch to the front. It grounds the coils to stop the engine

Re: having problems with BB
Get your tester out. The ignition terminal on the key should ground when 'off'. Like said it grounds through the body of the key switch so it has to be grounded to work. It will hook to nothing when key is 'on'....providing you have a vanguard or lawn type key switch. You hook that to the wire(s) from the mag coils near the flywheel. Also remember the engine cradle is not hooked to the frame only through the pivots, though the engine will be grounded to run the starter, and you could have the engine on rubber mounts like I did so the cradle is not grounded lol.

Did you ground the ignition switch itself?

Re: having problems with BB
yea i grounded the switch because my dash is plastic, a wire goes straight to the neg post on the battery and then to the switch.
in the diagram for a 6 pole switch #3 is exposed to be the shut off and that goes to the bolt on my motor where my coil wires are thats how i have it set up |
