Default 1 7/16 shaft clutch options

I recently came across a Kohler command 25hp, the problem I have is it has the 1 7/16 output shaft, Does anyone make a clutch that will fit this thing, if not what are my options. can a 1 1/8 clutch be bored this much, or should I look into having the output shaft milled down, It's almost a $2,000 engine hate to see it go to waste.

I've heard of people running them (the engine) in a lathe and turning them down, but never seen it. Otherwise you take the crank out and have it cut. I don't know if a clutch has enough room to go that big, but if so yes that could be done too.

check decipher's thread "my 2 week g1 build" or something close to that. it is the gas yamaha section. he ground his kohler down to take a 1inch clutch.

Thanks for the quick response guys, Sounds like having the crank machined will be my best option.

That would be great if you could find one, Comet has made a pile of stuff for many different industries but now they are gone it seems.

Yes they are dissolved. But all their stuff is still out there and believe me somebody has to be making centrifugal clutches for the big stuff.

Man that would be a great find, If anybody knows where to find one please let me know, would save me alot of trouble, Wouldn't have to tear apart a perfectly good engine.

There is the 1190, I think.

Not sure CVTech makes one yet, but you can ask.

Hey thanks sho305, that link was the ticket. They hooked me up with a supplier here in Ohio. they have 4 in stock. But they cost $1,029. So I guess its time to put some stuff up in the for sale section. I need to find a cheaper hobby.......
