what gauge wire for BB
hey guys im switching motors from a 16hp vanguard vtwin to 20hp vanguard vtwin with tons of mods....
my question is what gauge wire should i get to run the newer engine from the starter to solenoid and from solenoid to battery ect........?? |

same, Lawn mowers generally do not have bigger wires for bigger engines

just asking because i bought new wires for my 16hp vtwin and when i crank it they get little worm....and i think they are junk all ready from (corrosion)

well Ive been wrong before but I work on Lawn Mowers a lot more than Carts and have never noticed a difference. Clean connections are a must

no harm can be done with 16ga. just now doing an hei conv. on an old cart and going 14 everywhere. they say hei,s use a lot of current so just did it. cost about $1.00 more and have all new terminals. if you can fit it in, bigger is always better.

If it is the starter cable, usually you can buy car cables cheap enough that are too big but work fine. The rest I doubt it matters there is nothing else that takes or makes much power unless you added things to the cart like a winch or big stereo or lights, etc.
