G9 In need of more power!!!
alright guys I have a yami G9 fully custom all the way down to the body with 26x12xr12 tires on it and i'm running a 14hp onan single cylinder engine and although it has good top end speed and low end torque its just not enough for what I want and considering my spider gears are locked I just need more power!!! so i'm considering the 23hp vanguard from CPP and i'm wondering if that would be enough power to spin the tires lol...I dont wanna go with a cam or anything like that unless I have to
would like to keep the motor stock with just the rev kit maybe? would really like some input on this thx guys |

lol yes they are and thats what hurts the power of my 14hp specially because of the locked rear end....but I gotta give props to my 14hp cause it will spin the tires going up a hill...just not as good as I would like lol

Re: G9 In need of more power!!!
Yeah I would start with a 23 and get a clutch you can tune (change springs/etc). If that is not enough cams and other magical parts await the 23hp.
Just to show what a clutch can do, and it was not nice to drive this way, once a friend of mine put a sled spring in an old EZGO the old steel 2 stroke. It would rev like crazy and suddenly lock in and put the rear bumper on the ground doing a wheelie. It had no power, but man did it engage hard. He later put a larger carb on it and blew it up, but said it had more power with the big carb before it grenaded lol. |
