Default Cvtech to vanguard spacer

I am mounting a cvtech clutch to a 16hp vanguard. I do not have a spacer to put between the engine and the clutch so that the clutch does not catch on the block. I have done a lit of research on this and can not seem to get a straight answer. Can you use a washer? Can you buy one? Make one? If so out of what material and what dimensions. Any help woul be great. Thanks

I know Tom at CPP sells clutch spacers in different sizes but they are not listed on his website. You would have to give them a call.

besides the supplied washer with the comet clutch, does the clutch slide all the way on the shaft or is there a gap between motor and clutch?

you have to line up the primary clutch to the secondary clutch. I used 1" washers also

Seems like you could use a piece of conduit or similar light pipe the right size. The CPP spacer is machined, I have the one we didn't use with our adapter. Well maybe normal conduit would be a little too light, how about rigid conduit or black pipe.

I used a section of black 1" ID gas pipe turned to the right length. Washers would have been easier, but I used what I had in the shop.
